National Youth Cup, West Regional Cup and inspiresport Boys Caledonia Conference Cup Finals

The National Youth Cup Finals were played across BT Murrayfield, DAM Health Stadium and the back pitches on Saturday as boys' and girls' sides played for the National Cups and Shields.
The West Regional Cup Finals were also held across the weekend, with games on Saturday and Sunday to determine the winners.
And the inspiresport Boys Caledonia Conference Cup also came to a conclusion, with Moray/Huntly coming out on top in the U16 Cup and Strathmore claiming the U18 Cup. |

Scottish Rugby President Colin Rigby has produced his quarterly newsletter outlining recent activity.
He explained: “As President of the Scottish Rugby Union, I am taking this opportunity to update you, as promised during the governance review, on a quarterly basis on the activities of the board of the Scottish Rugby Union (The Union). “The Union is committed to improving the openness and transparency of information given directly to our stakeholders and to supplement information previously disseminated via other boards such as Scottish Rugby Limited (SRL) , the Club Rugby Board (CRB) alongside the weekly Club Comms.” To read the President’s Newsletter, please click the link below. |
Saltire Energy Caledonia Cup and East Regional Cup Finals this weekend |
The Saltire Energy Caledonia Cup, the largest regional rugby Finals Day in the country, will be hosted by Scottish Rugby on Sunday 2 April at Sheddocksley Playing Fields, Aberdeen.
And for the East Regional Cup, a Finals event will be held on Sunday 2 April at Peffermill, comprising of an U18 Cup, U18 Shield, U16 Cup and U16 Plate.

Applications open to host Inter-District Championships |
With the locations confirmed for the first two fixtures, Scottish Rugby is now accepting submissions from clubs across Scotland who are interested in hosting the Final and third/fourth place play-off on Sunday 21 May. The hosting club will be required to provide the following facilities, support and logistics:

Boys’ Schools and Youth Season Structure Changes |
|
Rugby Development wish to share information on the Postcode Lottery Trust funding, which may be of interest to your club, where constituted groups and charities can apply for project costs and unrestricted funding of up to £2,500 and £25,000, respectively. Funding themes and guidance can be found HERE.
Round 1 of the fund opens on the Monday 3 April, for a minimum period of 24 hours.
Eligable groups may apply to the fund twice over the year, with the next funding windows in July and October. |

Following a consultation Scottish Rugby can now confirm a new playing structure for the boys’ Schools and Youth game which will see changes implemented for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
A number of key changes will be seen from the start of next season, beginning with the expansion to two National Club Conferences.

Glasgow Warriors in first-ever home knockout European tie |
Glasgow Warriors are calling for your support in the club’s first-ever home knockout tie in European competition, as Franco Smith’s side host the Dragons at Scotstoun Stadium on Saturday 1 April, kick-off 5.30pm! After an unbeaten pool stage that saw USA Perpignan and Bath put to the sword, attention now turns to the last-16 and the return of knockout rugby to the home of the Warriors. Victory over the Dragons would see Smith’s men secure a home quarter-final, as the Warriors look to repeat their 42-28 win back in January over the Welsh side. With returning Scotland stars such as Huw Jones, Sione Tuipulotu, Kyle Steyn and Jack Dempsey also potentially in line for a return to action, make sure to grab your tickets for what promises to be a thrilling evening of rugby at Scotstoun!
