| In this week's Club Communications we bring you the latest information on funding streams available to clubs, plus reminders on RugbyRight and our upcoming Safeguarding Conference. |
| 'Growth & Participation' and 'Club Sustainability Fund' applications now open |
Scottish Rugby has confirmed two streams of funding are now available for clubs to apply for.
The Growth and Participation fund is a £500K package dedicated to supporting sustained growth and development of the community game, with a focus on inclusion and diversity. The funding stream was established from the Scottish Government funding announced in April last year.
The fund has three sub-categories of funding aligned to Scottish Rugby’s strategic priorities, ‘Women, Wellbeing and Winning’, and are titled: Women and Girls’ rugby, Developing Environments and State School rugby.Club and schools are now invited to apply for funding - up to £5,000 and £10,000 - to run a project during the 2023/24 season aligned to one of the sub-categories.
The Major Capital Investment strand of the Growth and Participation fund has now been realigned to sit under the Club Sustainability Fund.
The Major Capital Investment strand, which again utilises funding from the Scottish Government, is designed to support clubs with developments to their physical infrastructure including the purchase, upgrade or construction of an asset.
This fund has £500K aligned to it, and clubs are invited to apply for up to £250,000 Investment projects that have regional and national impacts and benefits.
The other two strands aligned to the Club Sustainability Fund are Revenue and Capital. The Revenue fund offers up to £10,000 to support new projects designed to increase club revenue, whilst Capital allows clubs to apply for up to £50,000 of funding to support clubs to upgrade their facilities and improve the quality, capacity and longevity of rugby participation.
Clubs are now invited to apply to any of the three strands of funding from these two streams of investment.
Many clubs across the country have benefited from funding in Phase 1 of the Growth & Participation fund to support them with fantastic projects to grow our game, and we look forward to sharing details on some of these exciting projects shortly. |
| Player welfare reminder: RugbyRight |
RugbyRight provides information and content around a wide range of player welfare subjects such as concussion management, tackle safety, law updates and anti-doping.
For season 2022/23, the RugbyRight course must be completed by all NEW coaches and match officials by Monday 31 October to be compliant. |
| Rainbow Laces Week starts tomorrow! |
Once again, Scottish Rugby are supporting the Rainbow Laces campaign and we invite our rugby communities to join us!
The campaign aims to give greater visibility to LGBTQI+ people in sport, and allows people in sport to show their commitment to inclusion.
This year’s Rainbow Laces campaign will run from 19 to 31 October. This includes Rainbow Laces Day on Wednesday 26 October.

| Safeguarding Conference - registration open |
Registration to attend Scottish Rugby's Safeguarding Conference on Saturday 19 November (9.30am-12.15pm) at Novotel, Edinburgh Park is now open.
Club's can now register for two conference tickets and two complimentary tickets to Scotland v Argentina via the links below.
Further details including a full itinerary for the day will be circulated prior to the event.
