Saturday 6 May saw 14 fantastic teams from the adult club game battle it out at BT Murrayfield and DAM Health stadium for a chance at some silverware.
With thousands of spectators across the day, Silver Saturday was a great spectacle of all that the club game has to offer.
Scottish Rugby would like to thank all of the clubs - Oban Lorne, Grangemouth, Stewartry, East Kilbride, Perthshire, Hillhead Jordanhill, Cartha Queens Park, West of Scotland, Watsonians, Cortsorphine Cougars, Hawick and Marr - for seven entertaining matches, and for all they have achived this year.
Whether as a player, coach, volunteer or supporter, you have all played your part in a fantastic season.

| Reminder: Community Game survey |
The Club Rugby Board, in conjunction with the Rugby Development department, are in the early stages of creating a new strategy for the community game to be launched in 2024.
To support this process we are seeking feedback from clubs, schools and societies on the previous 2019-23 strategy (available in the link below) and views on areas of focus for the next strategy.
Please view the survey via the link below. The deadline for submission is Sunday 21 May.
Results of this survey will be used to shape the 'have your say' strategy session at the Community Game Conference on Sunday 11 June at BT Murrayfield (please book a place at the conference via SCRUMS).

Schools & Youth NCR consultation

Comments and suggestions are invited in respect of Scottish Rugby’s Schools & Youth National Competition Rules (NCRs) to be used in Season 2023/24. Click HERE for supporting documentation.
In their response consultees are asked to: Provide details of any change(s) being proposed (including draft wording where appropriate); indicate the reason(s) why the change is being proposed; and provide the name, contact details and capacity within the game of the person proposing the change.
Responses should be submitted by email to consultations@sru.org.uk no later than 12 noon on Monday 22 May 2023.

The Government and the Sport and Recreation Alliance recently published the first UK-wide Concussion Guidelines for Grassroots Sport which will help players, coaches, parents, schools, National Governing Bodies and sports administrators to identify, manage and prevent the issue.
Working closely with Dr James Robson and his medical team, Scottish Rugby will now consider what this new guidance means for Scottish rugby in the grassroots game, and we will update clubs, schools and societies shortly with information on how and when our policies and guidance will change in-line with this.

| Nominations open for Scotland Women U18 7s |
Nominations are now open for girls aged between 16 -18 years old (female players born on or between 01 January 2005 – 31 December 2006) for the Scotland Women U18 7s programme.
Rugby experience is not essential, but the potential to learn fast and develop is what we’re looking for.
An assessment day will be held on Saturday 3 June at BT Murrayfield and nominated players will need to be eligible to participate in the Rugby Europe Tournament 13 – 17 July 2023 in Prague.
To nominate players, coaches should visit SCRUMS and click Nominations then U18 Girls 7s.

| Inter-district Championship Round 1 kicks off tonight at Netherdale |
Head coaches Bob McKillop and Matty Douglas have named their squads for Edinburgh and the South in Round 1 of the newly reinstated Inter-district Championship.
The South will make their home at Netherdale tonight as they host the Edinburgh side in the opening round of the competition, kicking off at 7pm in Galashiels.

Round 2 of the competition takes place on Saturday (3pm) as Caledonia Reds face Glasgow & The West at Canal Park, Inverness. Tickets for Round 2 are available to purchase online, via the link below. |
| Community Game Conference: Workshops announced |
Scottish Rugby is pleased to confirm five Club Development Workshops being run at this year's Community Game Conference at BT Mrrrayfield, Sunday 11 June.
- Women and girls growth in clubs featuring Bannockburn RFC
- Successful youth player retention and transition featuring Peebles RFC
- Club development plan impacts featuring Greenock RFC
- State School Strategy implemtation featuring Leith RFC
- Facilitiy investment and development featuring Falkirk RFC
Registration for the Community Game Conference is now live, and attendees are invited to register by visiting SCRUMS to reserve a space.
The conference is free of charge to attend, with the option to donate towards the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
