We'd like to share a huge thank you to the 350+ club, school and society officials who attended the Community Game Conference last Sunday at BT Murrayfield.

Through the sign-up process and fundraising on the day, we raised over £2,200 for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

All workshops were recorded and will be available to view later this summer. 

Reflecting on the event, Keith Wallace Scottish Rugby Vice President and Chair of the Club Rugby Board (CRB) said: “I'd like to share a huge thank you to all who contributed to the conference organisation and agenda, and all who took part.

"There was a superb positive buzz around BT Murrayfield from the outset. An immense amount of best practice was shared and we captured an equally immense amount of input from the 'Have your say' session.

"I said at the start that it was your day; it was wonderful to see you all grab it with both hands. Further I am sure you were all impressed by the great output and data we are now able to get from SCRUMS, and that you can see real value in the considerable inputs you all make, and our plans to capture that overall value in social impact.

"All of this will feed into the development of our new strategy. Thank you again for all your time and talents as we seek to compete on the field and collaborate off it."

Coming out is an ongoing process for people in the LGBTIQ+ community.

LGBTIQ+ is an umbrella term used for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning people. There are many ways that they can share their identity.

LGBTIQ+ young people already exist in rugby, although some young people may not feel comfortable to be open about their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Scottish Rugby has worked in partnership with LEAP Sports Scotland to provide some ways you can support LGBTIQ+ people when they come out to you or to those that have not taken that step yet.

Whether it be starting the sport from scratch, or transitioning from a different position, the ‘Scrum School Skills Camps’ will provide a step-by-step approach to building confidence in the scrum, while also offering a range of practical tips and tricks for coaches and players alike.

The first camp kicks off on Sunday 25 June, with the final taking place on Sunday 30 July, and there are camps for both senior and youth players.

Edinburgh Rugby have launched a brand new and special season ticket package for domestic rugby players as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to grassroots rugby.

All active registered rugby players (for season 2023/24) on Scottish Rugby’s ‘SCRUMS’ database will have access to a *£99 Season Ticket membership ‘ER Player Pass’, that secures their place at the home of Edinburgh Rugby for 12 unmissable domestic and European Cup pool matches in 2023/24.

To purchase your ER Player Pass Season Ticket on Monday, players can select the Category 4 £99 Season Ticket option in the dropdown menu. All purchasers will be cross-referenced against SCRUMS.

With limited availability and tickets expected to sell quickly, club players are encouraged to buy early to secure their place at the home of Edinburgh Rugby for the unmissable 2023/24 campaign.
