Tennent's Women's Premiership Finalists confirmed - with live broadcast announced! |
Stirling County booked their place in the Tennent's Premiership Final on Saturday 21 January after defateing Heriot's Blues 28-5 at Peffermill Playing Fields.
This will see the County side host Corstorphine Cougars at Bridgehaugh on Saturday 28 January, after they finished top of the table at the end of the regular season.
An all Women refereeing team, led by Mary Pringle, will officiate the fixture.
The fixture will be broadcast on Scottish Rugby's website with coverage starting from 1.20pm. Commentary will be led by Stuart McFarlane, who will be joined by a guest co-commentator.
In addition to the worldwide coverage, a highlights show with the best of the action and captain’s interviews will be available on the Scottish Rugby website and social media channels the following Monday.

Youth Cup Final rescheduled date confirmed |
It has been confirmed that the postponed 2022 Youth Cup Finals will now take place on Saturday 25 March 2023.
This event will see boys and girls’ teams at U18 and U16 level from the club game play for Cup and Shield trophies.
The Finals event was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 10 December but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The matches will take place across the BT Murrayfield bowl and the back pitches. Kick-off times will be confirmed next month. |

Community Recognition Awards 2023 |

Papa Johns Tartan Touch is back for 2023, and clubs can now apply to become a hub! If you wish to apply to become a Papa Johns Tartan Touch Hub, please complete the online application form by Friday 3 February 2023. We will notify all successful clubs in February/March.

Sarah Beaney Cup, National Shield & Plate competition confirmed |
The Sarah Beaney Cup, National Shield and Plate competitions are set to return next month as Women’s teams from across the country will step up their preparations for the nationwide competition. Teams from the Tennent’s Premiership and the top three teams from the Tennent’s National Leagues will compete in two pools of five in the Sarah Beaney Cup. The National Shield will be contested by the remaining teams in the three Tennent’s National leagues alongside the top three teams from the North, West and Midlands-East Regional leagues in two pools of six teams. There are 15 teams entered into the National Plate competition in a format with three pools of five teams with the pool winners and runners up progressing directly to the semi-finals. Entries for the National Bowl Competition are currently being confirmed and will be updated later this week. Gender Participation Policy |
Scottish Rugby has amended the eligibility criteria in its existing Gender Participation Policy which will be applied from 1 February 2023.
The amended policy now aligns with the already published positions of other rugby union governing bodies in the UK and Ireland which follow guidance from World Rugby and the Sports Councils’ Equality Group (SCEG).

Sign up to Scrum School workshops |
Last week Rugby Development launched a new programme designed to better prepare and develop individuals in the front-row positions across all levels of the domestic game.
Through a series of practical workshops and online resources, ‘Scrum School’ will provide support to coaches and players with the aim of creating stronger, more confident, and skilled front-row players.
Coaches are now invited to sign up to the first round of Scrum School courses. More information can be found via the link below.
